Weather decides the final flying time

Choose a Preferred Date—We Confirm the Safe Flying Window

Paragliding depends on wind direction, wind strength, cloud, visibility and local conditions. Your online booking records the date and preferred time window, but the exact meeting and launch time is confirmed after the forecast has been assessed.

When conditions are unsuitable, we move the booking to the next suitable opportunity rather than compromise safety.

Choose Your Preferred Date and Time Window

We normally plan two possible flying periods: late morning at approximately 11:00 and later afternoon at approximately 16:00. These are planning windows rather than guaranteed take-off times.

After purchase, we review the forecast and contact you with the meeting time. Please keep the selected day reasonably flexible.

From meeting point to landing

What Happens on a Tandem Flight?

The experience is carefully structured, but the exact launch and timing remain flexible because we choose the safest and most suitable conditions available.

Preparing for a tandem paragliding flight
A few running steps—and then the ground falls away. The pilot controls the wing while you enjoy the flight.
01

Meet in Algodonales

We meet at the agreed time, check clothing and footwear, and explain the plan before leaving for launch.

02

Travel to the Best Launch

Transport is included. The launch is selected according to wind direction, conditions and the operational plan for the day.

03

Passenger Briefing and Equipment

You are fitted with a helmet and tandem passenger harness, then shown exactly what to do during take-off, flight and landing.

04

Take Off Together

The passenger and pilot walk or run together until the wing lifts both people smoothly away from the slope.

05

Enjoy the Flight

A typical flight lasts approximately 20–30 minutes. Actual duration depends on the available lift, route, passenger comfort and conditions.

Clothing and items to avoid

Please Do Not Wear

  • Flip-flops or loose sandals
  • Very short or restrictive clothing
  • Loose hats that cannot be secured
  • Large items in open pockets

It is usually cooler in the air than in the village.

Even on a warm day, airflow and altitude can make the flight feel cold. Bringing one extra layer is better than discovering you needed it after take-off.

Two planning windows most days

Typical Tandem Times

The time selected during checkout helps us plan the day. It does not override the weather or guarantee that take-off occurs at that exact hour.

11

Late morning window

Approximately 11:00

Often useful when the morning wind and launch cycle are suitable. The actual meeting time may move earlier or later after the forecast is checked.

16

Afternoon window

Approximately 16:00

Often useful after the strongest part of the day. Seasonal daylight and changing conditions can alter the exact schedule.

Please remain contactable on the day.

Weather can improve, deteriorate or arrive earlier than forecast. We may contact you by telephone or WhatsApp to adjust the meeting time.

No flying experience required

Who Can Fly Tandem?

Most people who can take a few positive walking or running steps can enjoy tandem paragliding. Tell us about anything that may affect take-off, comfort or landing before paying.

0

No Experience Needed

The pilot controls the paraglider. Your job is to listen to the briefing, move with the pilot during take-off and follow the landing instructions.

A Short Run Is Normally Required

Take-off usually involves walking or running forward together for several metres. It is not a jump from a cliff.

110

Maximum Weight: 110 kg

Passenger weight affects wing choice, take-off distance and safe operating conditions. Contact us before booking when close to the limit.

<18

Under 18s Need Consent

A parent or legal guardian must approve the flight. Suitability also depends on the young passenger understanding and following the briefing.

Discuss individual needs before arrival

Health, Mobility and Passenger Comfort

Tandem flying may still be possible for passengers with different needs, but the launch, equipment, weather and assistance must be considered honestly.

Contact us before booking when there is a recent injury, significant mobility restriction, heart or respiratory condition, pregnancy, severe motion sickness, or any concern about running at take-off.

Please contact us first when:
  • You are near the 110 kg weight limit
  • You cannot run several controlled steps
  • You have had recent surgery or injury
  • You need additional assistance
  • You are unsure whether the harness will be comfortable
  • A medical professional has advised limiting similar activity

The flight takes place only when conditions are suitable

Weather, Rescheduling and Flight Duration

Tandem paragliding is not an amusement ride with a fixed departure time. The pilot assesses the actual atmosphere, launch and passenger before deciding whether to fly.

WIND

Direction and Strength

The launch must match the wind direction and remain within an appropriate operating range for the wing, pilot and passenger.

CLOUD

Visibility and Development

Cloud base, visibility, showers and changing development affect whether a flight can take place and which site is appropriate.

TIME

Conditions Change During the Day

A morning that is too calm may improve later. An afternoon that looks promising may become too strong. Timing is adjusted around the safer window.

FLIGHT

Duration Is Approximate

We aim for approximately 20–30 minutes, but safe launch, passenger comfort, available lift and landing decisions take priority over a stopwatch.

When the weather does not cooperate

We Reschedule Rather Than Force the Flight

We contact you to agree the next suitable opportunity. Keeping some flexibility around your visit to Algodonales gives the best chance of completing the flight.

Common passenger questions

Tandem Paragliding FAQs

Do I need any paragliding experience?

No. The tandem pilot controls the wing. You receive a complete briefing and are told exactly what to do during take-off, flight and landing.

How long is the flight?

A typical flight lasts approximately 20–30 minutes. Duration depends on conditions, available lift, passenger comfort and safe landing decisions.

Is the video included?

Yes. Video from the tandem flight is included at no additional charge.

Where do we meet?

The standard meeting point is the Repsol petrol station in Algodonales. We then travel together to the selected launch.

Why can I not choose an exact take-off time?

The final time depends on wind, cloud, visibility and the launch selected for that day. Checkout records your preferred window, and we confirm the precise meeting time after checking the forecast.

What happens when the weather is unsuitable?

We reschedule the booking to the next suitable flying opportunity. We do not take off simply because a particular time was selected online.

Do I have to jump from a mountain?

No. Tandem paragliders normally launch by walking or running forward together on a suitable slope until the wing lifts the pilot and passenger into the air.

What is the maximum passenger weight?

The normal maximum is 110 kg. Contact us before booking when close to the limit because suitability also depends on conditions and available equipment.

Can children or teenagers fly?

Under-18 passengers require consent from a parent or legal guardian. The passenger must also be able to understand the briefing and follow instructions.

Can someone with limited mobility fly?

Some adaptations may be possible, but suitability depends on the individual, launch, wind, equipment and available assistance. Contact us before paying so the situation can be considered properly.

Can I take my own camera or telephone?

Loose devices can be dropped and may interfere with the flight. Discuss this with the pilot before take-off. The included flight video is the simplest option.

Will the flight make me feel sick?

Many passengers are comfortable in smooth flight. Tell the pilot immediately if you begin to feel unwell so the flight style and landing plan can be adjusted.
