Terms & Conditions
Paragliding Guide S.L.
Last updated: 5 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings and services supplied or arranged by Paragliding Guide S.L. Different activities have different participant requirements, so these terms distinguish between qualified-pilot guiding, beginner instruction and tandem paragliding.
1. Company Information
Paragliding Guide S.L. is a legally registered company operating in Spain.
- Business: Paragliding Guide S.L.
- Base: Algodonales, Cádiz, Andalucía, Spain
- Active tourism: Registered for active tourism in Andalucía
- Paragliding school status: BHPA Registered Development School
- Insurance: Appropriate business and activity liability insurance is maintained for the services we provide
2. Our Services
Depending on the booking, Paragliding Guide S.L. provides or arranges:
- guided paragliding holidays;
- post-CP mentoring and pilot development;
- XC guiding and coaching;
- international paragliding trips;
- accommodation;
- airport and flying-site transport;
- retrieves and local logistics;
- tandem paragliding experiences;
- beginner EP and CP course packages delivered with our training partner; and
- paragliding equipment and related products.
The exact services included in a booking are those described on the relevant booking page and booking confirmation.
3. Booking, Deposits and Payment
A booking is confirmed when Paragliding Guide S.L. accepts the booking and receives the required deposit or payment.
For standard guided holidays, the normal deposit is €200 per person and the remaining balance is normally due 14 days before arrival.
Different payment arrangements may apply to beginner courses, international trips, tandem experiences or special bookings. Where this applies, the payment terms shown for that particular booking take precedence.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the dates, names and other information supplied with the booking are correct.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
Our standard customer cancellation policy is:
- More than 28 days before arrival: full refund.
- Between 28 and 14 days before arrival: the booking deposit is non-refundable, but may normally be transferred once to another available date.
- Less than 14 days before arrival: no refund will normally be made and payments already made will be retained.
- No-show or early departure: no refund.
Full details are contained in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Nothing in these terms overrides statutory consumer or travel rights that cannot legally be excluded.
5. Qualified-Pilot Guiding and Coaching
This section applies to customers joining guided flying, pilot-development, mentoring or XC trips as independent paraglider pilots.
Participants must:
- hold an appropriate recognised paragliding qualification, normally at least IPPI 3 or equivalent;
- have the experience and currency appropriate to the intended flying;
- be competent to act as pilot in command;
- use suitable and airworthy equipment; and
- hold appropriate insurance.
During guided flying, each qualified pilot remains pilot in command and is responsible for the final decision to launch, fly, continue a flight or land.
Our weather briefings, site briefings, radio support, coaching and guidance assist pilots with their decision-making but do not transfer pilot-in-command responsibility to Paragliding Guide S.L.
No participant will be pressured to fly when they are uncomfortable doing so.
6. Beginner EP and CP Training
Complete beginners do not require a previous paragliding qualification.
Beginner instruction, supervision, BHPA syllabus delivery and assessment during our advertised EP and CP programmes are provided by Valleys Paragliding, a BHPA Registered Ab Initio School.
Paragliding Guide S.L. supports these courses in Spain by providing or arranging accommodation, airport transfers, local logistics, site knowledge and transport coordination.
Students must follow the instructions and safety decisions of the instructional team.
Progress through EP or CP depends upon weather, aptitude, practical performance, theoretical knowledge, currency and achievement of the required standard. Booking a course does not guarantee that a particular rating will be completed within a fixed period.
Training equipment is provided where stated as included in the course description.
7. Tandem Paragliding
Tandem passengers do not require a paragliding qualification or previous flying experience.
During a tandem flight, the tandem pilot is responsible for operating the paraglider and making the flight-related decisions.
The passenger must:
- follow the pilot's take-off, flight and landing instructions;
- wear suitable footwear and clothing;
- provide accurate information concerning weight and relevant health or mobility issues;
- not participate while under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and
- tell us before flying about anything that could materially affect safe participation.
The normal maximum passenger weight is 110 kg. Acceptance of any passenger remains subject to equipment limits, conditions and the tandem pilot's safety assessment.
Tandem flights are weather dependent. A selected booking time is a preferred window rather than a guaranteed take-off time.
Where conditions are unsuitable, the tandem pilot may delay, relocate or reschedule the flight. The tandem-specific refund arrangements are set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
8. Weather and Safety
Paragliding is weather dependent and inherently involves risk. Weather forecasts cannot guarantee actual conditions at a flying site.
Paragliding Guide S.L., our guides, instructors and tandem pilots may alter the day's plan, change site, delay activity or stop an activity where conditions or other circumstances make this appropriate.
Safety takes priority over achieving a particular number of flights, flying hours, kilometres or training tasks.
Unsuitable weather affecting individual flying days does not automatically create an entitlement to a refund.
9. Insurance
Qualified pilots joining guided, coaching or XC activities must hold appropriate insurance covering paragliding.
Insurance should include, where applicable:
- emergency medical treatment;
- paragliding as a declared activity;
- search and rescue;
- medical evacuation; and
- repatriation.
Beginner students should hold appropriate travel insurance covering paragliding training. Tandem passengers are strongly advised to hold suitable travel and medical insurance and to check that their policy does not exclude tandem paragliding.
We strongly recommend cancellation insurance for all customers.
10. Equipment Responsibility
Qualified pilots using their own equipment are responsible for ensuring that their paraglider, harness, reserve, helmet, instruments and other equipment are suitable, correctly maintained and airworthy.
This requirement does not apply in the same way to equipment supplied for beginner instruction or tandem flying, which remains under the control of the relevant training provider or tandem operator.
11. Accommodation and Transport
Where accommodation is included in a standard guided holiday, customers normally receive their own private bedroom while sharing kitchens and living areas with other guests.
We do not normally require unrelated adult guests to share a bedroom.
Private apartment upgrades may be available for an additional charge, subject to availability.
Accommodation properties and room layouts vary. Photographs on the website are representative and the exact property supplied depends upon availability.
Airport transfers and daily flying-site transport are provided where included in the relevant booking. Transfer times and arrangements may be coordinated with other members of the group.
12. Participant Conduct
Customers are expected to:
- behave responsibly;
- respect other guests, staff, instructors, pilots and local communities;
- follow reasonable safety instructions;
- avoid behaviour that places themselves or others at unnecessary risk; and
- treat accommodation, vehicles and equipment with reasonable care.
We reserve the right to refuse or terminate participation where behaviour is unsafe, abusive, seriously disruptive or incompatible with the safe running of the activity.
13. Photographs, Video and Messaging Groups
We may use WhatsApp or similar messaging groups to coordinate flying days, transport, retrieves and other practical arrangements.
Participation in an operational messaging group does not by itself give Paragliding Guide S.L. permission to use a customer's private messages, photographs or personal information for marketing.
Photographs and videos may be taken during trips and activities. Where consent is required for identifiable marketing use, we will seek appropriate consent. Customers may tell us that they do not wish to appear in promotional material.
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Data Security Statement.
14. Retail Products
Paragliding equipment and other physical products purchased through our shop are subject to the product description, payment and delivery terms stated at the time of purchase and all applicable statutory consumer rights.
Shipping information is available in our Postage Information.
The cancellation terms for holidays and activity bookings should not be interpreted as removing any statutory rights relating to the purchase of physical goods.
15. Acknowledgement of Risk
Paragliding and associated outdoor activities involve inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated. Participants are expected to understand the nature of the activity and follow the applicable safety procedures.
Qualified pilots remain responsible for their own flight decisions as pilot in command. Beginner students remain under the applicable training system and supervision of the instructional team, and tandem passengers fly under the control of the tandem pilot.
Where applicable, participation is also subject to our Acknowledgement of Risk.
16. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under Spanish or European Union law.
Participants accept the inherent risks associated with paragliding and outdoor activities. Qualified pilots are responsible for their own pilot-in-command decisions and for equipment under their control.
Paragliding Guide S.L. is not responsible for loss arising solely from circumstances outside our reasonable control except where liability is imposed by applicable law.
17. Statutory Consumer and Package Travel Rights
Nothing in these terms affects statutory consumer rights.
Where a booking legally constitutes a package travel contract, the mandatory provisions of Spanish and European package travel legislation apply and take precedence over any conflicting provision in these terms.
This includes any statutory rights relating to cancellation, unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances, changes to contracted services, refunds and performance of the contracted travel services.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version applicable to a booking will normally be the version in force when that booking was made, subject to any mandatory legal requirements.
19. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Spain.
Any dispute will be dealt with by the competent courts determined under applicable law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights concerning jurisdiction or dispute resolution.
