Cancellation & Refund Policy
Paragliding Guide S.L.
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This policy applies to bookings made with Paragliding Guide S.L., including guided paragliding holidays, pilot-development and XC trips, accommodation and transport included within those bookings, beginner-course packages arranged through us, tandem experiences and other activity bookings.
Our aim is to be fair and straightforward. We understand that plans sometimes change, but our trips involve advance accommodation commitments, staffing, vehicles, instructors, guides and other costs that become increasingly difficult to recover as the start date approaches.
1. Standard Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your booking, our standard cancellation terms are:
-
More than 28 days before your start date:
Full refund of all payments made, including your deposit. -
Between 28 days and 14 days before your start date:
Your booking deposit is non-refundable. Any payments made above the deposit will be refunded. Instead of losing the deposit, you may ask to transfer it once to another available date, subject to availability and confirmation by Paragliding Guide S.L. -
Less than 14 days before your start date:
No refund will normally be made. Payments already made will be retained because, at this stage, accommodation, staffing, transport and other operational costs will normally already have been committed and there is limited opportunity to resell the place. -
No-show or early departure:
No refund is available for a no-show, late arrival, unused days or a decision to leave a trip early.
For a normal guided holiday, the standard booking deposit is €200 per person. Different deposits or payment arrangements may apply to special trips, beginner courses, international tours or other products where this is clearly stated at the time of booking.
The normal balance for a guided holiday is due 14 days before arrival, unless a different payment schedule has been stated for the particular trip.
2. Moving a Deposit
Where cancellation takes place between 28 and 14 days before the booking, you may request that your deposit is moved to another available date instead of being lost.
A transferred deposit remains non-refundable and is normally transferable once only. Any difference in price between the original booking and the replacement booking must be paid by the customer.
Course places, international trips and other limited-capacity departures can only be transferred where a suitable replacement date or place is available.
3. Weather and Paragliding Holidays
Paragliding is completely weather dependent. Wind strength, wind direction, cloud, visibility, thermal conditions and other factors cannot be controlled or guaranteed.
A guided holiday is not sold as a guarantee of a particular number of hours or flights. Our service also includes, where applicable, accommodation, daily weather assessment, site selection, transport, retrieves, briefings, coaching, guiding and local organisation.
For this reason, unsuitable flying weather on one or more days does not in itself create an entitlement to a refund for those days.
We will always make sensible use of the conditions available and will never encourage flying simply to fulfil a booking when we believe the conditions are unsuitable.
4. Tandem Flights
Tandem paragliding is also weather dependent. The date and time selected when booking represents the preferred flying window rather than a guaranteed take-off time.
If we decide that conditions are unsuitable for a tandem flight, we will normally move the booking to the next suitable opportunity or agree another date with the passenger.
If Paragliding Guide S.L. is unable to provide the booked tandem flight and a reasonable alternative date cannot be agreed, the customer will be offered a refund of the payment made for the unprovided tandem service.
The normal customer-cancellation terms above apply where the passenger decides to cancel a tandem booking for personal reasons.
5. Beginner EP and CP Courses
Beginner training offered through ParaglidingGuide in Spain is delivered by our specialist training partner, Valleys Paragliding, a BHPA Registered Ab Initio School.
Paragliding Guide S.L. supports these courses with accommodation, airport transfers, local organisation, transport coordination and other services included in the advertised package.
Paragliding training is progressive and weather dependent. Booking an EP, CP or combined course does not guarantee completion of a particular qualification within a fixed number of days.
Progress depends upon weather, student aptitude, achievement of the required standard and the safety decisions of the instructional team.
Time lost because conditions are unsuitable for training does not automatically create an entitlement to a refund. Where an entire course or a substantial part of the contracted service cannot be provided by us or our training provider, we will consider the appropriate alternative, credit or refund having regard to the circumstances and any statutory rights that apply.
6. Illness, Injury, Travel Disruption and Personal Circumstances
The standard cancellation terms also apply when a customer is unable to travel or participate because of:
- illness or injury;
- flight cancellation or travel disruption;
- work or family commitments;
- passport, visa or entry problems;
- personal circumstances; or
- other circumstances affecting the individual traveller.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation, medical treatment, paragliding where applicable, search and rescue, evacuation and repatriation.
7. Cancellation by Paragliding Guide S.L.
If we cancel a booking before it begins because we are unable to provide the contracted service, we will offer, as appropriate:
- a full refund of payments made for the cancelled service;
- an alternative date; or
- a credit towards another booking.
Where a refund is legally required, it will be made without undue delay and within any mandatory statutory time limit.
8. Unsafe Behaviour or Early Termination
Paragliding Guide S.L. and the relevant instructor or pilot reserve the right to refuse or terminate participation where a participant:
- behaves dangerously or irresponsibly;
- ignores reasonable safety instructions;
- is under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- provides materially incorrect information affecting safety;
- acts abusively or disruptively; or
- is considered unfit to participate safely.
Where participation is terminated because of the participant's own conduct, no refund will normally be due.
9. Mandatory Consumer and Travel Rights
Nothing in this policy removes or limits any consumer right that cannot legally be excluded under Spanish or European Union law.
Where a booking legally constitutes a package travel contract or another category of contract carrying additional statutory cancellation rights, those mandatory rights take precedence over this policy.
Where applicable law requires a cancellation charge to reflect actual or reasonably anticipated costs, cost savings or the ability to resell services, the statutory calculation will prevail.
10. How to Cancel
Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or change a booking. Cancellation should be communicated in writing by email or WhatsApp so that there is a clear record of the date the request was made.
The cancellation date will normally be the date on which Paragliding Guide S.L. receives the cancellation request.
